The Virginia Leadership Retreat is where leaders in the community association industry gather to learn, discuss, and hone their skills. Leaders see reality while keeping their eyes on the horizon. They learn the lessons from the past, and present, and use them to prepare and lead their people, organizations, and clients, into the future. This year's theme of Leadership – Bridging the Gap Between the Past, the Present, and the Future sets the stage for robust dialogue on what it takes for leaders to develop their vision, manage change, and engage the people both inside and outside their organizations to make it all happen.

VLR '24 is an exciting opportunity to pass forward the things that work. The intimate and focused setting of the event lends itself to a passionate, challenging, out-of-the-box, and inspiring learning experience. Will you consider sharing your valuable insights and expertise and becoming an integral part of VLR participants' professional growth while earning their CEUs and maintaining their designations? If so, please consider some of the criteria the VLR Committee will use in selecting the presentation:

· Presentations that advance the Leadership – Bridging the Gap Between the Past and the Future theme.

· Advanced presentations for attendees who have 5+ years of community association experience.

· Presentations that target emerging issues, community management trends, and best practices for the future.

· Presentations that pair industry leaders who are with different companies or firms and who represent different facets of the community.

· Co-presenter formats are strongly encouraged, as our attendees have appreciated the unique perspective provided by presenters involved in different parts of the community association industry.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

• Each proposed presenter must complete the presentation proposal process in its entirety no later than the deadline.
• Applications are due by 11:59 pm on April 15, 2024.
• Applications submitted after the submission deadline cannot be considered.
• Each proposed presenter must be available for VLR '24: July 28th – 31st, 2024 – please note the new Sunday through Wednesday schedule.
• Applicants will hear back no later than May 1, 2024, on the status of their proposal.
• This process asks for a Presentation Summary. You are not required to submit a completed presentation during this process; the summary is a detailed description or outline of the presentation. If selected, VLR Committee members will work with you on the final presentation.
• During the submission process, you will be asked to agree to the VLR Speaker Guidelines. You can review the terms here.
